The Different Models of the Sherp ATV
The reason the Sherp is preferred by so many professionals is that there is a Sherp model that best suits your line of work and needs. Some models are best suited for search and rescue operations in the wilderness, while another is best suited for off-road adventures.
Before we get into the different models for Sherps, keep in mind that it is not street legal to drive Sherp ATVs in the cities. Because of this, you will need to buy a Sherp trailer to transport Sherp within the city; this might cost you anywhere between $8,000 to $10,000 extra to buy.

Sherp Pro 1000
The Sherp Pro 1000 is the cheapest model you can buy at the cost of about $115,000. Sherp Pro 1000 is the benchmark you will compare the other models to.
It has a loading capacity of 1000kg (2204lb), a top speed of 40km/h or 25 mph on land, and 6km/h (3.7mph) in the water. This model can traverse every terrain type up to a gradient of 35°. It can also climb over objects up to 1m (3ft) high.
Compared to other Sherp models, the Sherp ATV Pro only accommodates 6 passengers. However, what it lacks in passenger space, it makes up for in mileage and fuel capacity.
The Sherp Pro model has wheel fuel tanks on each wheel that each contain 58lt (15.3 gallons) of fuel. Combined with its main tank volume of 56lt (15 gallons), the Sherp Pro 1000 can carry up to 288lt (76 gallons) of fuel at once with these wheel well fuel tanks.
The fuel economy is also really good with 2-3lt/h (0.5-0.8 g/h). The massive fuel reserves and excellent economy allow the Sherp Pro 1000 22 hours of non-stop running and up to 115 hours per full refill. All this economy on a 44horsepower engine for the best benefit.
Sherp N 1200
An upgrade from the Sherp Pro 1000, the Sherp N 1200 comes at a starting cost of $126,000 and can go higher depending on what additional features you want to add on top.
Compared to Sherp Pro, the Sherp N boasts a 55 horsepower engine with a higher loading capacity of 1200kgs (2645lbs) and more passenger space for up 9 passengers. Overall, the Sherp N gives you 30% more cargo space than the Sherp Pro.
The Sherp N also has ultra-low pressure tires that are highly resistant to damage, thanks to their elasticity. On top of that, Sherp N’s maintenance and repairs don’t cost much, and if you buy a new Sherp N, it comes with a 2-year or 1,000miles warranty (whichever comes first). This makes Sherp N very easy to maintain in the long run.
While the Sherp N is a major upgrade over Sherp Pro, the same can’t be said for its fuel mileage. While the Sherp N does have a bigger fuel capacity of 327lt (86.3 gals), it has a significantly worse fuel consumption of 5-8lt/h (1.3-2.1 gallons/hour).
Compared to Sherp Pro’s 115 hours of autonomy, the Sherp N offers only 65. It also has a lower non-stop running time of 19hours.
Still, Sherp N is well worth the price for the pure power it brings as long as you can afford the fuel.
Sherp Ark 3400
Sherp Ark 3400 is a massive upgrade over the previous two Sherps; it costs $375,000, making it the most expensive Sherp on the market. Befitting its name, Sherp the Ark has a loading capacity of 3400kg (7500lb) and passenger space for up to 22 people.
Often found in the toughest places in the world, such as Canadian oil fields and other vast, very cold environments, it can easily climb over 1.5m (5ft) high objects and can easily traverse up to a 40° slope. It retains the ability to travel through the water just like other Sherps and has a Tier-4 ecological emission control making it very environment friendly.
The Ark sees an improvement in its total fuel autonomy compared to Sherp N, with up to 82 hours of autonomy per full refill. Although Sherp Ark has the highest fuel consumption of all Sherps (8-12lt/h), it also has a much bigger fuel tank.
